Combination Web-based and Classroom Courses:

Combination web-based and classroom training is a convenient way for students to learn First Aid, CPR and the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). Also available is training for the professional rescuer and an Oxygen Administration course.

The first portion of the training is completed online at the student’s convenience

For the second part of the training, a Red Cross instructor conducts a skills session where participant skills are practiced and assessed in a classroom setting.

Be Read Cross Ready!!

In recent years, excessive heat has caused more deaths than all other weather events, including floods. A heat wave is a prolonged period of excessive heat, often combined with excessive humidity. Generally temperatures are 10 degrees or more above the average high temperature for the region during summer months, last for a long period of time and occur with high humidity as well.

Dear Community Members,

Summer is here and many of you may be planning vacations. Some of you are just looking forward to more time with your kids, now that school is out of session.  And while most of us are hoping just to soak up some sun and enjoy the nice weather, the American Red Cross asks: "What are you doing that is truly extraordinary?"  Did you know that in about an hour you could turn an ordinary day into an extraordinary gift for a patient in need?  One blood donation can help save up to three lives. That is no ordinary summer activity!

There is no substitute for human blood.  And volunteer donors are the only lifeline for patients in need of a transfusion.  The need for blood never takes a vacation and many donations are needed every day in our area to maintain a safe an adequate supply for local patients.  The American Red Cross empowers ordinary people to be extraordinary by giving blood.

Anyone who presents to donate blood between July 1 and Sept. 1 is automatically entered into a drawing for a $250 gas card.  On Labor Day weekend those who present to donate Friday, Sept. 2-Wednesday, Sept. 7 will automatically be entered into a drawing for a $1,000 gas card.

There are thousands of ordinary people in our community who will NOT make it a priority to give this summer, so we are asking YOU to be some of the extraordinary few who take the time to help save a life.

Donors can call 1-800-RED CROSS or visit redcrossblood.org to schedule their donation appointment.
